Greetings STEM SITC Staff,
Do hope this message finds you and yours safe and sound. As of this morning, we still do not have a definitive word about our SITC Summer Academy program, and as soon as we know, will definitely be in touch.
Meanwhile, wanted to give you some advance notice about an upcoming NYC DOE Minecraft Challenge which we will be announcing shortly. We are very excited about this! As STEM SITC staff, you know first-hand how our students love Minecraft and respond well to design challenges using the platform. And now that all students have their own DOE user name (email@example.com) they can access Minecraft EE for free, along with all the rest of the Office 365 software. Am hoping to rely on you to help spread the word about the Minecraft Challenge in a few weeks J
Starting tomorrow, there will be Minecraft EE webinars offered so that educators can learn more about the features of Minecraft EE and how to incorporate into online learning. Moving forward, there can be additional sessions that go more in depth on features and functions, and there will be specific Minecraft Challenge webinars in the weeks before the challenge starts. Maybe you can schedule time tomorrow to join this webinar? If not, perhaps share with your colleagues/administration who might be interested or check the NYCDOE DIIT Remote Learning PD Calendar for a recorded copy or future offerings.
Again, hope this message finds you well and will be in touch again soon with an update about the summer and this upcoming Minecraft Challenge!
